Oil cooler lines replacement
Its not a bad idea to replace your engine mounts and engine shocks while your doing the cooler lines. The mounts are held by two hex one on top each side and one on bottom of each mounts.
And yes the engine must be lifted off its mounts to do this, and if you don't please let me know how you did!
Remove the hex bolts on each side top and bottom, then slide a floor jack under your engine oil pan add a strong piece of wood the width of the pan and pump it up,the fan blades have to touch the shroud. Then let the fun begin!

Oh One more little thing. If you ever decide to just fix the lines or attempt to modify them with pipes of any kind your playing with fire. The pressure is very high in these lines God forbid one of them should burst while your driving. Its only a matter of seconds and you WILL need a new engine!
Make sure the vehicle is secure on ramps or floor jacks.
Cooler line inlet.
Cooler lines showing there age, when they start sweating like this...IT IS time to take care of business!
Outlet cooler line.
This is where it gets a little tricky. These are the two cooler line hoses at the oil filter (bottom)
One in and one out.The ONLY way you will remove these lines is by pulling them towards the rear of the car along side the transmission.Trust me I tried other ways and it WONT work!
This is one of the tools needed. An open and closed end wrench of 1 1/16 inch. There is a slight modification to be made to this wrench, other wise you will have a very hard time loosening these bolts.Grind down a space on the closed end wrench large enough to have it slide over the metal tube of the lines.
Two new engine mounts
Two new engine shocks.

This set of pictures are from a 1983 126,(300SD) The cooler lines have never been replaced on this vehicle only the 123 above.
This hose retainer is a little tricky to put back in place!
Once you have removed both oil cooler lines...Install the lower one first at the bottom of the oil filter housing. Then the second one.And please don't ask me why!
