Ok, I got it
Rebuilding seat switch
Someone opened the seat switch while it was still in place on the door!
Guess what happened?....A mess
So lets rebuild it together.
Once you have completed this task, you will admit that it was very easy to do.
All of the pictures on this site remain the property of benzguy,Vancouver Canada
They are Copy Right protected.
This is a brass toggle that has to be fitted in its place, there are several of these as you will see in other pictures.
This is a genuine mess!
This is an overall view of where these brass toggles go.Its a great idea to clean them all before putting them in place.I use rubbing alcohol to clean them.
These are the tabs that give contact to your seat functions. There is a brass pin that needs to be inserted in to the hole that you see.
There are three (3) of these tabs in a seat switch.
This is how to re fit your brass pins into the tabs. They don't fit in tight and they slide back and forth to fit in a specific area.
Then add a spring into each hole like in the picture.
Install all of your tabs in there proper place in the switch box.
Then insert a ball bearing into the holes at each end of the tab.
This little device is also a toggle but its use is internal only, and it fits right here.It is spring loaded and a ball bearing is added before installation on the brass toggle below.
This is its position in the control box.
After inserting a spring in each hole, you need to set a ball bearing on top of each spring.
But what if it falls off?
Simple...
Get yourself some Vaseline with a Q tip and add a little to each ball bearing, this way they will stick to the spring and with the heat outside it will simply lubricate the whole switch...And theres nothing wrong with that!
Pay attention the the position of every toggle lever. They each go in a proper location. If you put them in the wrong way you wont be able to put the top cover through them.
All the springs and ball bearings are installed...
The infamous cover.....Grrrrr
Now the fun part begins....You need to carefully install the top cover with out making any ball bearing and or spring come off.If anything comes off you have to restart.
Its very tedious work and patience is a plus! Trust me.

Once the cover is in place and locked in with a few tabs all around it,install the screw behind the control box.Its an added safety device that mine did not have.
